Log Cabin @ Nelson Park

The Log Cabin located 305 Benton Street (in Nelson Park) is one of two community buildings available to rent for family reunions, birthday parties, weddings, and graduation parties. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance by calling City Hall at 515-685-2531. See below for further details, the Availability Calendar, and the Reservation Agreement.

• Rental fee is $150 per day - from 6:00 am to midnight. *No 1/2 day rentals. 
• Seating for up to 60 people provided
• 13 six-foot, rectangular tables provided
• Heated & Air-conditioned
• Indoor kitchen facilities; however, serviceware is not provided.
• Indoor bathroom facilities
• The rental fee does not include the big outdoor pavilion/shelter area to the west of the Log Cabin or the small outdoor shelter south of the Log Cabin. Both shelters are free to use and are first come, first serve, unless the shelter has been reserved. Park shelter rentals are $25.
